ABOUT ROCKY AND THE ROLLERS
Rocky And The Rollers have over 40 years of experience touring around the world in a wide range of musical situations, from fairs and festivals to conventions and black tie affairs, concert halls and solo hotel and club dates. Early on - Rocky And The Rollers have worked with DICK CLARK on many of his Rock and Roll shows. They have performed with and played for over 300 of the many great recording artists of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s The guys have also performed many shows with the Late and Great WOLFMAN JACK and other radio and television personalities. Rocky and the Rollers are best known as the touring band for BOWZER’S ROCK AND ROLL PARTY with Jon “BOWZER” Bauman former leader of SHA NA NA. Rocky and the Rollers Doo Wop N’ Rock show is one of the most exciting shows that take you back in time to the great sound of Doo Wop and Rock and Roll from the 1950’s thru the 1970’s. So whether for dancing or sitting at a concert, all ages will enjoy Rocky and the Rollers and have you dancing in the aisles. Rocky and The Rollers show is one you will not want to miss! Rocky and The Rollers have been nominated for the East Coast Music Hall of Fame. Inducted into The Lost In The Fifties Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Rocky and the Rollers, a band with a purpose, provides an outstanding level of professionalism. Gerry Seader (Rocky) "Drums & Vocals"
In the early 1980’s Rocky decided to start his own group. He was in such demand by promoters and acts in the business that he had to break away from DANNY & THE JUNIORS and go out on his own. That is where Rocky & The Rollers began. Rocky is the drummer and musical director for BOWZER’S ROCK & ROLL PARTY and the band tours with BOWZER nationally and internationally throughout the year.
Al Layton "Keyboard & Vocals"
Born in Hollywood, Florida, Al started playing piano at the early age of 7. After high school he attended Miami Dade Community College For Music where he earned his degree in music. Al began playing with local bands in the South Florida area before moving to Orlando where he currently resides. In 1993 Al was hired by Rocky & The Rollers to play keyboard where he has been ever since. Not only does Al play keyboard, but also sings lead vocals on occasion, as well as vocal backup.
Bruce Nardi "Sax, Flute, Electric Bass & Vocals"
Born in Rochester, New York, Bruce began playing sax at the age of 10. and has played professionally for nearly thirty years. Bruce has worked in many situations over the years in groups ranging from Big Band, Jazz Quartets, Classical Quartets, Top 40, and Funk to headliners such as KENNY ROGERS, RITA MORENO, THE SMOTHER’S BROTHERS, STEVE LAWRENCE & EYDIE GORMET.
Al Morse "Vocals"
In 1974 Al met Joey Dee “The Peppermint Twist” of Joey Dee and the Starlighters in Altamonte Springs, Florida and was asked to join the band in 1975. Their first big show was at Walt Disney World with The Coasters, The Crystals and Bo Diddley. Al also worked many shows with Dick Clark all over United States. Musically Al now has found a new home with Rocky and the Rollers.
Bruce Wallace "Lead Guitar"
For over thirty years, he has had the honor and privilege of accompanying dozens of members of the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame including, scores of performers such as Fabian, Tommy Sands, Connie Stevens, Frankie Avalon, Johnny Ray, Roger McGuinn, Sam Moore, Gloria Gaynor, Martha Reeves, Jim Stafford, Bruce Hornsby, Sherman Hemsley, Little Anthony, Ben E. King, The Fifth Dimension, Charlie McCoy, the Nashville Now Orchestra and many more.
Pat Gallo "Bass Guitar & Vocals"
Pat Gallo spent several years as a traveling musician before settling in Orlando. He earned a B.A. in music from Rollins College and an M.A. from the University of Central Florida. His performance experiences include pit orchestras, artist back-up, awards shows, conventions, festivals, theme parks, dance bands, jazz bands, and original projects. As a freelance musician he has traveled most of the U.S., parts of Europe, the middle and far east.
Steve Falkner "Trumpet"
Steve Falkner is the trumpet player for Rocky and the Rollers, and the “icing” on top of the horn section as well. His fiery sound is an integral part of the dynamic sound projecting from the ‘Rollers’ blazing three horn section. Growing up in El Paso ,Texas steve was heavily influenced by the mariachi bands and tejano trumpet players there, with their huge sounds and percussive approach to the instrument.
Doug Spoonamore "Saxophone"
Raised in Illinois, Doug has been a Florida resident since 1988. After spending several years working as a musician on cruise ships, he moved to Orlando where he played at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in the Main Street Sax Quartet for 15 years. During that time, Doug was fortunate to have worked with The Temptations, The Four Tops, The O’Jays to name a few.
